About This Initiative

The Cooper Walkers Club is a new initiative started by the Physical Wellness Committee. It is designed to be done in tandem or separately from the Cooper Climbers Club. Simply track your daily steps. Be on the lookout for group opportunities to walk. Here are some other simple ways to increase your daily step counts:  

  • Take the stairs instead of the elevator 
  • Park further away from your destination 
  • If less than a mile away, walk instead of driving to your destination 
  • Take a dog for a walk (look into taking a shelter dog for a walk if you don’t have one of your own) 
  • Walking meetings

About the Monthly Steps Challenge 

  • All challenges begin on the first of the month and end the last day of the month. 
  • Enjoy walking with friends and colleagues! 

Rewards 

  • Each month, simply take as many steps as you can. 
  • Each month there will be one grand prize winner and two additional prize winners. 

How to Participate 

  • Use any mobile app to keep track of the steps you walk. iOS/iPhone users can use the default free app called Health and Android users can use the free default Google app called Fit.

  • You can use any app you would like. 
  • On the first day of the following month, return here and fill out the below form to tell us your name and how many steps you walked. 
  • If you are one of the top walkers you will be asked to bring your app when you claim your prize to show proof of flights climbed.
